Fairline Targa 33 (1990) – Twin Volvo Penta AD41/DP – Nieuwpoort
The Fairline Targa 33 is a classic British sports cruiser renowned for its solid build quality, excellent seakeeping abilities and practical layout. Designed by Bernard Olesinski and built by Fairline in England, the Targa 33 became one of the most successful models in the Targa range. Owners particularly appreciate the combination of a spacious cockpit, two separate cabins and the proven performance of the Volvo Penta AD41 diesel engines.
This 1990 example is powered by twin Volvo Penta AD41 diesel engines, each producing 200 hp and coupled to Volvo Penta Duoprop sterndrives. The engines have approximately 1,980 operating hours. The sterndrives received a major service in 2023, while previous major maintenance was carried out in 2013 and 2017, including replacement of bellows and sensors.
The AD41 engines are highly regarded for their reliability, fuel efficiency and long service life. Combined with the Duoprop drives, they provide a comfortable cruising speed of around 22 to 25 knots and a top speed of approximately 30 to 32 knots.
Layout
The cockpit offers generous living space with a large U-shaped seating area aft, a cockpit table and a spacious sunbed above the engine compartment. Additional storage is available beneath the seating. A wet bar with refrigerator is located to starboard.
